A combined Sequoia and Napa/Solano Audubon field trip (Francis Toldi & David Takeuchi co-leaders) came upon this fine bird in San Mateo County (California) on 18 Nov. 2006. The next day Cindy and I arrived to find several car loads of birders looking in the same direction. This is always a good sign.

The Yellow-billed Loon was actively feeding on small crabs it found at the bottom of the creek. This video is shot from the parking lot above looking down onto the back of the bird. And thanks to Al Eisner for providing analysis at the conclusion!
