The Wood Thrush was found by Michelle D. Brodie on 20 October 2005 at El Polin Spring, in the Presidio, San Francisco, California. Following our work day, Cindy and I arrived at the site to hear the bird had last been seen at 4:30pm. After a few minutes the Wood Thrush appeared above the spring for just a couple of seconds. Eventually, the group spread out and the bird was then seen sitting on the fence along a trail close by. It quickly disappeared. The group ventured back to the spring, until Mark Eaton suggested we should be looking at the fence. I turned and called attention to a bird sitting on the fence...the Wood Thrush. I managed a few seconds of video which is offered here.
